Now Tum’s Takeaway Thai is not strictly takeaway but there is no doubt this is how they make most of their money. The small space inside ensures that dine in space is very limited. However those that do get treated to an exciting atmosphere of hustle and bustle. The interior is painted fiery colours to match the high temperature, punctuated by gusts of cold air as the takeaway customers come in and out of the sliding glass door. The hive of activity also causes a few tables and chairs to be spewed forth onto the relatively quiet street where you can dine in the crisp night air.
In true Thai style the servings are quite large, big platters piled up with delicious smelling food. The food itself is very tasty, the beef being thin, tender cuts and the pad Tai as average. We joke that this is the punishment for ordering pad Thai in the first place.
If being busy is a sign of a good restaurant, then Tum’s Takeaway Thai is the best.
