Top Ballpark Eats

I figured what would be a better way to kick off the start of my new food blog than by combining two of my passions, food and sports. I've assembled a list of the best ball park food sold across the country.
We’ll follow the paths of ball players by starting in the minors and working our way up. Minor league ballgames are great. The tickets are much more affordable, the teams run all kinds of great promotions and they also get very creative with the grub they serve.
Baseball's Best Burger
Interesting is one word used to explain the creative concoction you can find while attending a Gateway Grizzlies game. The chefs there looked to combine two flavor favorites, the burger and the donut. Featured on the show Man vs. Food ‘Baseball's Best Burger’ as it is termed consists of a bacon cheese burger nestled between a grilled glazed donut. You have to travel to southern Illinois to grab this favorite that offers fans both the tastes of dinner and dessert.
The Funnel Dog
The Northwest Arkansas Naturals offer another sweet and savory treat. Two ballpark traditions are funnel cakes and of course the hot dog. The Naturals marry the two and throw the pairing on a stick, creating the funnel dog. This snack is certain to hit all of your taste buds. The biggest problem is getting too caught up in this ballpark hybrid and going straight through to the stick.
Bacon-Wrapped BBQ Dog
Food is just like baseball, to find the real talent you need to look to the majors. The St. Louis Cardinals offer baseball's best in Albert Pujols and decided to put out a menu item that is comparable to the 3 time MVP. Busch Stadium's bacon-wrapped BBQ dog will leave your stomach calling for more but your arteries crying for mercy. The original dog is wrapped in bacon and topped with a heap of baked beans and BBQ sauce.
Pulled Pork and Pierogi Stacker
I've saved the tastiest of the ballpark treats for last. While the Pirates might not be the best show to watch, this year's addition should attract a few more fans to PNC Park. The creation combines slow roasted pulled pork and the goodness that is potato pierogis. The best part of the sandwich might be what surrounds these two palate favorites; a pretzel roll engulfs the pork and pierogis. Throw in some grilled onions and you have yourself the Pulled Pork and Pierogi Stacker. Unfortunately for the Pirates, this looks to be the team’s best offseason acquisition for some time.
