The Melbourne Food and Wine Festival

The Melbourne Food and Wine Festival launches into its fifteenth year this March. A celebration of Melbourne’s rich culinary culture, the fortnight long festival features classes, displays, competitions and forums. There will also be plenty of focus on world famous Victorian wine.
Their motto is a fabulous quote made by the eternal Oscar Wilde, “The only way to overcome temptation is to yield to it.”
My pick of the event calendar is ‘Out of The Frying Pan’, a conference on the future of food and the media to be held at the Langham Hotel on the 26th of March. It sounds absolutely fascinating, featuring international media foodies presenting panel discussions and forums. Topics include how food trends can be shaped by the media, the ins and outs of publishing in the food field and the complexities of branding and marketing.
Tickets to the day long event are $125 which also includes a copy of the Age, lunch, a ‘stylish’ show bag and two Coffex experiences, whatever that is.
