Swiss Quattro Pizzeria Sylvania

Did you know the Swiss make pizza? Neither did I, but apparently they make most excellent pizza and pasta. There’s nothing like a big, warm cheesy pizza on a cold rainy night to make you feel all happy and squishy inside.

The set menu is extremely good value at only $20 a head for brushetta, garlic pizza with tatziki and guacamole, Caesar salad, Greek salad, pizzas and pastas (chicken and asparagus and bosciola). There are other more expensive set menus but since we simply couldn’t finish all we had to eat I have no idea how anyone could manage to get through the $25 and $30 specials which include fondue, drinks and coffee. We took a doggy bag home and ate cold pizza and pasta for breakfast the next morning!
I simply couldn’t resist taking photos of the gorgeous and delicious food that we were served. The pizzas featured are a seafood pizza with big juicy prawns, ‘Cyprus’ which had tender lamb and also came with tatziki, a vegetarian pizza and a really chunky tandoori pizza which I would definitely recommend. Despite the name they are quite flexible with the set menu and you can usually choose or alter some of the selections. We even happened upon a special deal which made it ridiculously good value.
I have visited this restaurant on at least two other occasions and from memory the garlic prawns and halumi cheese dish are absolutely mouth watering. There is also cheese and chocolate fondue on the menu that have always looked enticing though I can’t comment on these from personal experience.
Swiss Quattro is not in an optimal location as it faces the Princes Highway but this is more than compensated for by the clean, modern interior which is tastefully decorated with a couple of paintings. My favourite one was quite appropriate for the rainy day on which we visited. It depicts a formally dressed couple ballroom dancing on a beach while a maid and manservant hold umbrellas over them.
Though it is relatively spacious inside it is deservedly quite busy and I would recommend that you book as we have been turned away when it had reached capacity on one occasion. If you don't feel up to it they do free home delivery to local areas for orders over $20. I feel sorry for the attentive girl who served us last night. As a group of nine we were extremely indecisive and kept changing the order and asking for alterations, though this was received very tolerantly.
