SMH Good Food Month!
October 15th 2007 05:35
October is a significant month. Mid Spring, the weather has begun to warm up and the festival season approaches. It also the home to ‘Oktoberfest’ and is sometimes known as ‘Rocktober’. In addition, October is the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Month.
This means the month features a succession of great events and specials, sponsored and promoted by the Sydney Morning Herald. You can see full details and a calendar of exciting activities at the official website: http://www.gfm.smh.com.au/
I’ll keep you up to date on what’s up and coming, my favourite events, and reviews and gossip of the top players.
To begin with I can recommend one of the feature events, the Sydney Food and Wine Fair. This is a day long benefit held in Hyde Park to raise money for AIDS treatment and research. There is fantastic array of vendors from some of Sydney’s top restaurants, all offering samples of their fare at standardised prices. This year it will be held on Saturday the 27th of October, but only from 12-2pm, so be aware that there is a brief window of opportunity.
It is a great day out not to be missed! For details on last year’s day you can check out my review at: Really Long Link
