What you need:
Chestnuts – as much as you want!
A bottle of red wine
Or
Hot chocolate
What to do:
1…Make a cut across the round side of each chestnut – this keeps it from exploding
2…Arrange chestnuts on a tray or a cookie sheet
3…Preheat oven to 210C/425F
4…Roast chestnuts until the shell/skin pulls back from the cuts – usually about 15-20 minutes, depending on the chestnuts
5…Remove the chestnuts from the oven. Wrap them in a tea-towel (lined with paper towel). Press down hard to crack them.
6…Let them sit for a few minutes while you get your drink(s)…enjoy!
*Eat, drink & be merry*

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire evoke lovely memories of childhood, camping and festivities. Of course, these days many of us live in typical suburban dwellings without much space or balcony, let alone a yard. So, what can we do about roasting chestnuts? How about the oven? It’s been such a cold last few weeks that I find every excuse to turn the oven on.What you need:
