Prime Restaurant and Grill Room
Prime Restaurant and Grill Room

First off, there isn't much to say about Prime Restaurant and Grill Room that hasn't already been said before - its accolades which includes being awarded the Best Steak Restaurant for four consecutive years (2001-2004), and Highest Scored Steak Restaurant for seven years in a row (2001-2007) by the SMH Good Food Guide speaks for itself. Boasting a New York style interior and heritage listed sandstone, dining at Prime is a classy and memorable experience best saved for those special occasions.

The centrepiece of the restaurant is its 7.5 metre high wine tower and an amazing eight-storey glass atrium above the main dining and lounge areas.

Birdie Num Nums Carlton

Don’t let the quaint appearance fool you, the coffee is pretty bad. It tasted burnt, and my sources tell me that this is not an unusual occurrence. Also the general consensus is that it is a little over priced. Nevertheless the food is reasonably interesting and pretty gourmet as they say.

Hook Island Food Diary

November 20th 2007 09:14
Day one:
We arrive on the beautiful Hook island. The resort is small and secluded on a pretty beach and surrounded by bush. To my delight there is amazing snorkelling right at the doorstep.
There is only one place to eat on the island, and that is the resort’s café. You are not allowed to bring your own food, though I snuck in some olives, dip and muesli bars
