Oyster sauce

One of the most commonly used sauces in chinese cooking is oyster sauce. Viscous in texture and dark brown in colour, oyster sauce is used in anything from stir-fries to braised chinese black mushrooms, braised oysters or simply on top of steamed chinese vegetables (choy sum, kailan, bok choy etc.).
Arguably the finest oyster sauce available in Asian grocery stores or supermarket is the "Lee Kum Kee Premium Oyster Sauce". Lee Kum Kee is one of Hong Kong's best known brands and has been manufacturing some of the finest oyster sauces since 1888.
The secret to Lee Kum Kee's Premium Oyster Sauce is the high level of oyster extractives (40%) which gives the sauce its savoury flavour and texture. Other ingredients include: Sugar, Water, Flavour Enhancer (621), salt, Modified Corn Starch, Wheat Flour and Colour (150c).
Oyster sauce really is a premium all-purpose seasoning sauce and enhances the taste of any dish when used as a marinade or as a condiment so next time you're in an Asian grocery store or supermarket, keep an eye out for this fantastic sauce.
