Nulla Nulla @ Cronulla

Nulla Nulla was the place where all the cool kids with boyfriends with cars hung out in high school. I can’t remember having ever visited it before, but I soon discovered that its not a bad little place at all.

Breakfast by the beach on a Sunday morning (though it’s in Cronulla mall, so a swim or sun baking is a five minutes walk away.) is always going to be good.
The vegetarian big breakfast was so good it has paled some of the big breakfasts I’ve looked at more recently. There were melt in your mouth golden hash browns, wilted spinach and the deciding factor, a hunk of halumi cheese. This I ate with relish and barely managed to polish the whole thing off, quite a while later. See my look of satisfaction!
The regular big breakfast looked just as big though perhaps not quite as delicious and the smoothie and fresh juice were also yummy but as always too small!
The uniform for waitresses in Cronulla is pretty much black sort shorts and a tank top, if that’s the sort of thing that interests you. Ours was young looking, personable and attentive, but also quite possibly hitting on my boyfriend which was a bit annoying. On the other hand she complimented my belt so I guess that redeeming. Another annoying factor was another customer’s whiny little dog that barked constantly. This was clearly also irritating staff, but that’s always going to be a difficult position for management, especially as the dog was with quite a large group of people.
This aside it was a great breakfast. There are lots of little cafes along this strip in Cronulla mall, though most of them are unremarkable. Nulla Nulla is definitely one of the most attractive, with a long established reputation and steady clientel.
