This choice was somewhat to cater to the number of Americans that made up the group. Naturally the restaurant was decked out with random paraphernalia, license plates, vintage advertisements and cacti covering every square inch of the walls.
The food was very filling, and in true American style also came in huge servings. The prices were slightly high for the quality of the food, but this was certainly made up for in quantity. After umming and ahhing over the menu I decided that if you can’t beat you should just damn well join them. I ordered some sort of pork and chicken combo, as what could be more enjoyable than double meat!
The half rack of pork ribs weren’t bad, very soft and tender but a little lacking in the flavour department. On the other hand, the chicken breast was very tasty with lovely seasoning. This meal also came with mashed potatoes which were nice and creamy and a salad that was absolutely foul. This mixture of God knows what was smothered in repulsive ‘blue vein cheese sauce’ and almost half the plate was also covered with grated tasty cheese.
Most of the other dishes were meat related, and seemed okay. Pictured is the Caesar salad and hot potato, and the spinach and artichoke dip was pretty good with just the right amount of jalepenos.
There is very little choice for vegetarians, probably nothing for vegans, and it would certainly be difficult if you were missing some teeth (which one the company unfortunately was). But for the rest of us, you’ll probably enjoy a big hearty meal and leave very, very full, but a little bit unfulfilled.
