La Mint - French Cuisine with Mediterranean & Asian twist
June 12th 2008 23:47
The La Mint restaurant by restaurateur George Lai is a combination of French cuisine with Mediterranean and Asian influences which are designed to enhance the individual flavours of the produce while a range of fresh and light infusions ensure palates are not over loaded by rich ingredients.
For starters, try the escargots a La Mint - half a dozen deliciously cooked snails in shells with a taste of mint, garlic, tomato and chilli. If snails aren't your thing, try the rice paper rolled with smoked salmon avocado and fresh herbs or grilled minced beef rolled in vine leaves served with fresh herbs.
Other delightful dishes with fresh flavours and a modern twist are the grilled scampi, fresh scampi with lemongrass sauce and La Mint's signature dish, the Gold Pave'de Pork - pork loin slowly caramelised and served with homemade chilli. The Drunken Mud Crab is divine - live mud crab cooked with beer in a delicate broth of lemongrass, ginger and Vietnamese spices!
And starting this month, La Mint will be offering a seven-course degustation menu which will be available once a week only.
