Cooking Satay Dishes At Home
September 3rd 2008 03:15
As far as I'm concerned, cooking any form of satay dish at home requires only one thing and that's Jimmy's Sate Sauce. Staying true to its "sweet, spicy and delicious" claim on the jar label, this sauce is pretty much as authentic as it gets and I wouldn't be surprised to find it lurking in the refrigerators of most Asian households.
Prepared from the best selected chili and various oriental spices, the sauce has a most pleasant stimulating flavour and aroma - the result of a long and patient cooking process. It can be used in various ways - as a flavouring agent for the preparation of various foodstuffs such as meat, vegetables, seafoods, spaghetti and noodles etc., in cook or simply as a table sauce.
For use in cooking, the directions are simple. Only mix the sate sauce in with the food when it's almost done. The aroma this sauce alone gives off is enough to leave you salivating and the flavour is just delicious - empowering in the way that a sate sauce should be because of its ingredients which is basically a concoction of peanuts, soy sauce, spring onions, shrimp, chili, garlic, caramel etc. but not too spicy for those that can't handle their chili.
Just a quick tip: don't overheat the sauce in oil as it pops...a lot!
Jimmy's Sate Sauce can be found at most Asian food stores.
