Food Creatures

I was in an internet café in a village in Northern Thailand when I saw some of these amazing images. Each computer had a desktop image similar to those feature here. I think it very clever the way the artists have so effectively blended the aesthetic qualities of food with those of animals. These images were all produced by users on Worth 1000 as part of the regualr photoshop competitions held there.
The walnut bug was an entry by Miss Trixie. I think its absolutely adorable, and looks tasty too!
This one is a crocberry by StrangeQuark. Looks a little dangerous actually, the sort of thing that might get caught in your throat...I love the really effective use of use of the colour red in this image, it provides a very cohesive look.
This one is called Salmelon, by Inspirator. I think the understated way it has been pulled off makes it more realistic. Imagine how good it would taste in salads!
And finally this cute little character, again, I think the amateur photographer kind of style add to the realism. The potato frog, by Norrit. A very rare species.
It is believed that the use of low-resolution images in this context
• to illustrate the artwork in question,
• with the owners’ names either visible on the image itself or written in the image description below,
on the www.foodherald.com hosted on a server in Australia by www.orble.com , qualifies as fair use under Australian copyright law.
