Florentines Recipe
November 7th 2006 06:54
These are good to make yourself because they are really expensive to buy in the shops.
Ingredients:
2/3 Cup of Condensed Milk
90 Grams of Cooking Chocolate
60 Grams of Glace Cherries
2 Cups of Cornflakes
90 Grams of Unsalted Peanuts
¾ Cup of Sultanas
Method:
Lightly crush the cornflakes and place in a large bowl. Roughly chop the cherries and the peanuts and add to the mix. Add the sultanas and the condensed milk and stir vigorously. Add more liquid or dry ingredients, with the aim of the mixture sticking loosely together.
Preheat your oven to 150 degrees Celsius. Grease a couple of oven trays and place tablespoon fulls of mixture until all is used up. Place in the oven for about ten minutes and keep an eye on them. They will bubble up at first and should be taken out as they turn brown. Leave to cool for at least fifteen minutes, they require time to harden. Remove from the trays and set aside.
Boil a pot full of water and melt the chocolate in a bowl balanced on top. Spread the chocolate thickly onto the flat side of he Florentines. Work quickly or the chocolate will either harden or burn. Again let the biscuits cool, and when the chocolate has set they will be ready to eat.
