Feasting On Flesh at the Studio
October 17th 2006 10:39
A sensual and visual feast of gastronomic proportions! The Studio is the part of the Sydney Opera House that caters towards fringe and avant guard performances. Feasting On Flesh is a dark food themed experience which incorporates music, spoken word, physical theatre and circus.
As you can see from the promotional photograph the show looks as if it will be a tragic and tantalising treat for the whole body- Unconventional and challenging, perhaps also awesome and inspiring, but nevertheless leaving you starving for more.
“This will be the most strangely amusing dinner you’ve ever attended. Mop up the gravy of laughter, suck on your funny bones and prepare to be pleased by performing zucchinis.”
Ok, Enough with the food metaphors! Tickets are $35 or $25 for concessions. However, if you get in early for the preview on the 8th of November tickets are only $25. The season runs from Wednesday the 8th to Saturday the 18th of November.
Also, I just thought I’d let you know that the Opera House is running a competition with Lavazza Coffee, Feasting on Flesh and their other sponsors.
You can win tickets to the show, 2 return economy flights to Melbourne, 2 nights accommodation in Melbourne and 2 tickets to The Famous Spiegletent in Melbourne (Who created the show). Runners up can also win a coffee course or Lavazza coffee packs. Hurry, because you only have until the end of October to enter.
It is believed that the use of low-resolution images and an extract of text in this context
• to illustrate the event in question,
• with the event name either visible on the image and text itself or written in the article content,
on the www.foodherald.com hosted on a server in Australia by www.orble.com , qualifies as fair use under Australian copyright law.

although the promotional material certainly does imply that.
I suspect really the metaphor is a 'visual feast' or something like that.
