Two Great Sydney Food Festivals This Weekend!

This is Newtown’s annual food festival which shows cases a range of different food from over forty producers and restaurants in the local area. Based in one of Sydney’s culinary hubs the festival is now in its twelfth successful year.
There will also be a range of interesting entertainment forms including African drumming, hip hop and circus skills development workshops. And if this isn't enough there will be a wine trivia competition to compliment the Australian wine makers and local breweries’ stalls. The festival’s food and entertainment reflects Newtown’s cultural diversity.

Ritmo Brazilian Festival
Run by BraCCA (Brazilian Community Council of Australia), this festival features South American food and entertainment. Now in it’s sixth year the free festival will feature a range of South American cuisine, Latin dancing, Capoeira and Brazilian Djs. This festival promotes an understanding and appreciation for Brazilian customs through an exploration of their cultural heritage.
Here’s a traditional Brazilian dish that’s recommended as a little known taste sensation:
“If you have never tried our delicious Feijoada, a traditional Brazilian dish made with black beans, pork and sausages and eaten with rice, this is the perfect chance. Brazilian cuisine is a mixture of exotic ingredients with a hint of passion and there will be an array of foods to be tasted at the Ritmo Festival. You can also see arts and crafts from all over Brazil.”
