Fatburger and the 'F' word

April 26th 2006 09:16
Fatburger are an American fast food chain which serve all the staples that can be found in a McDonald’s or Burger King. These include fries, shakes, and of course, burgers.
At first it appears that this legendary chain, in operation since 1952, has achieved a goal that no other fast food chain can ever match, honest advertising. The ‘fat burger’, so named because it was practically rupturing from a load of juicy ingredients could be seen as the most truthful embodiment of a burger the world has ever seen.
Only fast food chain Hardee’s ‘Monster Thickburger’ could possibly compete in terms of a grotesquely honest name. When it comes down to calories, the Monster Thick Burger definitely has a weight advantage totaling at 1,420 calories per burger. All superfluous salad items have been removed.

FAT
adj. fat•ter, fat•test
1. Having much or too much fat or flesh; plump or obese.
2. Full of fat or oil; greasy.

Fatburger don’t go so far as McDonald’s and Hungry Jacks, who now display suspicious nutritional information in their stores and on their websites, nor do they offer poxy salad alternatives for Mums on diets.
However, they do feel the need to justify themselves in a section entitled ‘Why the heck did we name ourselves Fatburger?’ They emphatically explain that their beef patties are lean and oil cholesterol free. I think it sad that in the world of today even a chain named Fatburger must revert to diet culture in order to sell their wares. I’m surprised they don’t go so far as to claim that by ‘fat’ they mean ‘phat’.

PHAT
adj. phat-ter, phat-test
1. Pretty Hot and Tempting
2. Cool

I think that there are a lot of avenues that Fatburger just haven’t discovered yet. They could perhaps organise some sort of in store scheme with Large Friends, an internet dating site for larger people. Fatburger would be a great place for a first date between BBWs (Big Beautiful Women), BHMs (Big Handsome Men), FA (Fat Admirers- Male) and FFAs (Female Fat Admirers)
Through these sorts of affiliations they could access a previously untapped market of dedicated patrons.
Personally I would like to see Fatburger take the next step… Brandishing the slogan “Fatburger- for people who don’t care anymore” above pictures like the one below. Then they would be able to determine their real fan base who’d “rather not have a burger at all if they can't have a Fatburger”….or three or four.

Haha that entry is gold! You should give a 2 pee guarantee with that one, because anyone who reads that is bound to give 2 drops of pee! Hehe.
