Dessert at Mosaic - Westin Hotel
November 6th 2007 13:30
While visiting a friend that was staying at the plush Westin Hotel in Sydney recently, I stumbled across this hidden gem by the name of Mosaic which was located on the first floor of the hotel.
Having already eaten prior to meeting up with this friend from overseas, we decided to 'just have a coffee' but ended up sampling the fantastic dessert menu on offer at this beautiful restaurant overlooking the atrium and up to the GPO clock which provided us with a spectacular night view.
The apple crumble and vanilla ice-cream rhubarb was sensational; the tiramisu was as delicious as any I have had before with just the right amount of alcohol and the chocolate melting pudding just simply out of this world - a must try!
The passionfruit flavoured icecream with crunchy biscuit topped with passionfruit sauce was a delight and the strawberry tart just as easy on the taste buds.
The desserts weren't cheap (around $15-18 if I remember correctly per plate) but overall, the standard of the desserts and ambience of the place made it a very rewarding experience.
