Cafe Review - Harry's Cafe De Wheels

Today I am going to make world history by writing the first ever bad review
of Harry's Café De Wheels.

Harry's Café De Wheels has apparently been open since the 1930s and has in
this time gained the reputation of being a Sydney institution. If you visit
it today you can see a number of impressive photos of big (and small) name
celebrities munching into pies, reputedly as famous as the celebrities
themselves. These include Elton John in his younger days and fried chicken
entrepreneur, Colonel Sanders.
It baffles me that this mediocre establishment is so popular. I really
wasn't impressed. I can't see why a little American looking food cart that
serves the same sort of rubbish as McDonald's could become so highly
regarded. Its funny that, like the giant Coca Cola sign at King's Cross,
something so completely American could be considered an 'Australian icon.'
Admittedly the location is nice. Nestled away in the corner of Woolloomooloo
the cart stands alongside a pretty harbour and illuminated pier. Though the
food looked revolting, I decided there must be something really special
about it. Was there some sort of magical secret ingredient in it that caused
people to single out Harry's as the place to get the best pie in Sydney?
My boyfriend ordered the ? This is what it looked like: A soggy, flaky pie
base filled with unidentifiable grey mush, topped with synthetic mashed
potatoes which were arranged in such a manner that some disgusting brown
gravy could be pooled in the middle. Around this was some sort of green
slush which I believe used to be peas.
I had a taste. It was as horrible and bland as it looked.
Having said all this, my eleven compadres all wolfed down their sloppy pies and hot dogs with great relish. Maybe there's something wrong with me.

I don't see how you've failed to see the magic in Harry's pies but theres this added intangible, this X factor that I just can't explain. Like the satisfaction of scoring a goal in soccer. You eat the pie and you know, that nothing could make this moment better, except of course another pie.
