Bread and Butter Pudding

February 20th 2007 09:18
An incredibly delicious classic.

Ingredients:
¾ Cup Sultanas
A loaf of White Bread
60g Butter
3 Tablespoons Marmalade
1 Tablespoon Vanilla
4 Eggs
200g Castor Sugar
3 Cups Milk
1 ½ Cups Cream

Method:
Whisk the eggs, milk, cream and vanilla and set aside. Butter the bread and spread with marmalade. Cut each one into quarters and arrange in a formation in a greased dish. Create about two layers with the butter side facing upwards. Evenly sprinkle the sultanas across each layer. Drizzle the egg mixture across the bread and allow to soak for one hour.

Preheat the oven to 160 degrees celcius. Fill a tin halfway with water and place the dish inside. Sprinkle the bread with granules of sugar. Place in the oven for approximately one hour. The pudding should have set and become golden brown.
Yum!
