Don’t let the quaint appearance fool you, the coffee is pretty bad. It tasted burnt, and my sources tell me that this is not an unusual occurrence. Also the general consensus is that it is a little over priced. Nevertheless the food is reasonably interesting and pretty gourmet as they say.

I had some kind of exotic pistachio friand that was rather nice, and the range of quiches, salads and savouries did look good too. There are also several newspapers and flyers lying around so it was rather pleasant for me to sit by the window and read as I slowly sipped.
Apparently it used to be a far superior establishment referencing an old butcher shop, a pretty cool concept that carries through to the present day. It kind of looks like an old deli with a high roof and benches out the front with some nooks and crannies out the back with a cosy looking couch corner complete with fire place. (I dare say this would be the choice spot during the Melbourne winter.)
