I'm told I need to eat more foods containing folate but I've never had fennel or anise. Does it have that same pungent taste as celery?

Hi Aimz -- I think I know what you mean by that *pungent* taste of celery, it took me a long time to start eating celery!

Although similar in texture to celery, fennel has a sweeter taste, and doesn't have that *strange* taste of celery.

If you can tolerate the taste of licorice -- you'll be fine with fennel. It's quite similar, with that distinctive aroma and taste.

At 99 cents a piece, I think it's worth a try

Oh...maybe try it cooked, as the taste and aroma is less distinctive after cooking.
