Naan Bread

Naan Bread

The Naan bread is a very popular food staple in many Central Asian countries such as Pakistan and India.

A typical naan recipe involves mixing white flour with salt and sometimes shredded coconut (Indian cuisine), a yeast culture, and enough yogurt to make a smooth, elastic dough. The dough is kneaded for a few minutes, then set aside to rise for a few hours. Once risen, the dough is divided into balls which are flattened and cooked.

Making Naan bread

In Indian cuisine, naans are with fragrant essences such as coconut and garlic and are most commonly eaten (served hot) as an accompaniment to a main dish such as Tandoori Chicken or kebabs although it still tastes very nice on its own.

Here is a simple Naan bread recipe.
